The schedule has been posted above. I know it's early and things may change and I'll make adjustments if needed, but I just got excited for the season to start soon.

Also I assume at some point Elkhorn South will name their women's show choir? Maybe not, but if they do just pass it along to a Crew member or post here so we can update it in our system.

I completely agree with jdL. A tradition of fine singing and dancing will take many years to dissipate and that probably won't happen for at least several more seasons to happen, if at all. And wouldn't these certain important members be an example for future members who have been watching them and learning under them for several years now? I'd certainly hope so.

What about the thoughts of Wheaton not meeting expectations based on some important members lost?
I guess it depends on what those expectations are. Everyone has different expectations, right?

I don't think it is at all unreasonable to expect that Wheaton continues to be a favorite at competitions, consistently making finals, and delivering incredibly high energy and entertaining shows. That is something that has been developed at the program level by their director, John Burlace, and their choreographer, Dwight Jordan. When something that awesome is developed with excellent chemistry at the program level, "important members" really aren't as important. Sure group dynamics change year to year based on graduation and new members, but the program itself should stay the same. If a program/show choir struggles after "important members" leave, then the show choir itself really wasn't that great holistically.

So nah, I'm not worried at all about Wheaton. They will still have a great year.

Well based off who is coming so far I'd say

GC: Wheaton (caption sweep)
1RU: Johnston
2RU: Lincoln Southwest
3RU: Elkhorn South
4RU: Norris
5RU: Millard West

Wheaton, well what can I say, has always been consistently phenomenal and I honestly expect nothing less this year as well. Johnston could easily slip to 2RU because of how great LSW normally can be right out of the gate and how long it took to Johnston to bring their show to its full potential. I've heard very positive things about Millard West and Elkhorn South this year, but we shall see! Three cheers for random predictions!

Disclaimer: These thoughts do not represent the views of Papillion South choirs, only myself.

I know of several schools attending this event and I wanted to know who else planned to compete at UNL as well this year!

I know of:
Elkhorn South
Lincoln Southwest
Millard West
Norris
Johnston
Wheaton Warrenville South

This competition already looks to be fantastic! All of this information I found on school websites.
