You should totally come for all the prep groups too! That's going to be one wicked competition in itself!

I would love to, but I other commitments keeping me until at least 4.

Although my group is not attending this competition, we were very lucky to have competed against such a talented group in Cedar Rapids Kennedy at Urbandale. I was impressed by the sportsmanship and friendliness of the students at Urbandale, which is why I don't doubt they will have a very smoothly run competition. As for predictions, Ankeny will be hard to be but you never know what will happen. Good look to all groups competing!

Here are my predictions:

GC: Ankeny
1RU: Prairie
2RU: Washington
3RU: Xavier
4RU: Muscatine
5RU: Ankeny Prep

I think the battle for the top two spots will be between Ankney and Prairie. I believe Washington, Xavier, and Muscatine will battle it out for the 2RU-4RU spots and if one of them were to put on a really strong performance, they might be able to snag the 1RU spot from Prairie if Ankeny were to get GC. I'm pretty sure that the Ankeny prep group will secure that last finals spot but if the Prairie prep group were to have a strong performance they might be able to beat out the Ankney prep group for the final spot. This competition will be very interesting!

(My predictions do not reflect the Prairie show choirs in any way and are my own personal opinions and thoughts)

Linn-Mar would be a great addition also! But...our director is judging haha
Oh absolutely! I left you out because Mr. Anderson always seems to judge here. :p

Go Hawks - I actually live in Iowa City. This would be a great first midwestern competition for you to attend!

Hmmm. Well I've only seen one of the shows so it's really hard to predict at this point. I would say it's a tiered system something like this:

GC/1RU: Ankeny/Prairie
2-4RU: Washington/Xavier/Muscatine
5RU: Ankeny prep

BV: Prairie
BC: Ankeny

I expect Perpetual Motion to win the prep division, but Focal Point could pop in there, and possibly a Wash group if they have a really great performance (but probably not).

At this point in the season, only Ankeny and Prairie have competed against each other, so you have to give the nod to Prairie based on H2H. Of course after Urbandale that can change. It will be interesting to see how Xavier and Muscatine fare against each other this weekend. Wash hasn't really competed against the same people as these groups, so it's hard to place them. Xavier lost to Monona Grove at Prairie, and Wash beat them in day round at Onalaska, and just barely lost to them in finals. I'd give Wash the slightest of advantage based on that, but you really can't tell. I think we'll find out more about all of these groups the next two weeks and it *might* be easier to predict after then.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing as you, except for the fact that since I'm in Focal Point I obviously want us in the finals instead of Perpetual Motion, but it will be one tough face-off though! And yeah you're right it's hard to predict this one with it being so far away and other competitions in-between. I was just trying to get a vague idea of what people thought this early. It will be exciting to see how earlier competitions unfold and see what the predictions will look like the during the week before the competition!

So does anybody have any predictions for this competition yet, even though it's a couple weeks away (which is killing me and is too long)?

Even the prep competition should be hard-fought and a lot of fun to watch!

I couldn't agree more!

I can't wait for this competition! It will be nice to see how some of the local schools compare to one another like Xavier, Washington, and us at Prairie. I am definitely excited to see the predictions for this one as well as what the real results will turn out to be!
