Sierra is in Chanteurs, Kennedy's freshman group. My guess is that Protege was the group that came in fourth.

These results are very interesting, especially with so many of these choirs performing so unusually early in the day. My guess is that there will be a bit of shuffling in finals.

After Prairie I'm trying so hard to collect my thoughts on how prelims ranks will turn out but I cannot come to any conclusions. The shows are so hard to compare as their all special on their own way. I'd absolutely hate to be a judge right now and I don't think my predictions from before will be right, I'll leave it at that!

I expect this to be all iowa groups in finals. Pretty sure about that prediction. Also abe, is it not common for groups to prepare for finals, rather than not? It makes more sense to be ready than to not. But Xavier kids are usually stuck up anyway so it makes sense

I totally agree. I think Davenport Central also tends to perform really well at their in-town competition. City High and Fort were VERY close at Prairie. I think anyone really has a chance at finals, and last year's results showed that!

Last year I remember an Xavier boy member saying "I have to make sure my costume is set for our finals performance" before finals were even announced (mind you finals could not be held that year). Not saying it's a reflection of the group but it's bothered me till this day, finals are not guaranteed, especially at a contest like this one.

I watched Xavier and Linn Mar at Mid Iowa and both groups looked really great. Both groups had very polished shows and it will be interesting to see how the rest of their seasons will go. I think Prairie will most likely take Choreo due to their past program and I think best vocals will be up for grabs between Linn Mar and Kennedy. Due to the competition schedule, I think it will be really interesting to see how prelim rankings will go since Kennedy, Linn Mar and Dav. Central perform so early in the day.
