Ya i agree that it isn't the same inside but i really wish i could have seen dekalb and new castle. Dekalb always puts on a good show and I love new castle girls group. And our parents were watching the storm all day and we didn't set up the risers until 2:00. In 2009 our choir had to move the risers at 5:00 to Life Church and even though it was a pain and we complained all of the groups got to preform.
I wasn't in love with the inside competition when they did it, but that's mostly because what I love about the street fair competition the most is getting to walk around the fair, ride stuff, get the food, and enjoy the outdoor stage. The competition in the church just wasn't the same...but I'm sure that the groups that didn't get to perform would have rather gone inside. I wish I could have see DeKalb, because I'd heard good things through the grapevine.
Our girls would have been pissed, because the last time they got to perform at the street fair was when it was inside. They were really excited about getting to perform at the actual street fair this time, and the rain that really started in the middle of their costume change didn't faze them.
Also, I think that they knew a few hours in advance a few years ago they weren't going to be able to hold the competition outside. This kind of blew up in the middle. :/
yeah i guess that competion wouldve been too big because the competion wouldnt have gotten over til 11 or so if everyone wanted to bring both groups. such a shame, ive always loved watching dekalb and northrup fight it out!
I heard that they had to limit it to one group per school, because to many schools wanted to bring both groups. I dont't know for sure if its dekalb's mixed or girls going though.
So the Bluffton Street Fair is coming up in less than two months which means the first show choir competition of the year (I believe that it will be on September 22). I'm guessing Northrop and Dekalb will be their for sure, and Bluffton, Norwell, and Southern Wells will all be performing as host schools. Does anyone else know what other choirs are coming? I'd love to see lots of schools coming and making the competition even more interesting. Do you have any predictions on who will win? Will Dekalb and Northrop fight it out for the top spot again or will a new school come to take the title?
