We're lucky we had both a Power Company and Current in the audience, or the power outage in the morning might have lasted longer....

Sorry. I had to make a joke.

Despite the power outage, however, it was a great day and was very successful in all aspects.

Congrats to ALL groups. I was fortunate to be working at the judges table most of the day and got to see most of the groups... wow. Great work.

It was great seeing Bemidji at Perkins too!!

Oh, and, Waconia .... see you in TAMPA!!

okay. i seriously just laughed for a good minute about that joke.

but yes! tammmmpaaaa! 9 days!! (:

This was my first year attending this competition, and it was fantastic! The students and parents at Totino are so wonderful! It is so nice and refreshing to be greeted at the door with a smile and feel so welcome in a school!

This weekend was really the first time I saw most of the shows, and I just must say, WOW!

Bemidji- I don't even know words to describe your show. It is one of the best show designs I've ever seen. I love the fact that new songs would start and you never knew when it was coming, but suddenly a new color happened. Love Love Love the ballons in the opener, as well as the AWESOME dress change in "Paint it Black". Ballad was gorgeous. Guys number was very cute, and I think the highlight of the show for me was the girls number. How creative can you get?! Loved at the end when the colors were being shown and then the boys suits matched too! So visually awesome. After the day, I wasn't sure what to think of the closer, but at the night performance, I loved it! So in conclusion, fricken LOVED this show. period. Favorite show of the year by far!

Totino- Another fantastic show. I love the riser set up with the back row raised and the curved fronts. It really creates a wonderful, much bigger picture for the audience. Your first too numbers were very sassy and clean! Really enjoyed the outfits, and I love the girls big, loose curled hair. What a talented bunch of kids! Every single one of those girls rock the hair! The ballad is for sure the best ballad for me of the year. So powerful and beautiful, and it may have been long, but I wanted more! The closer is absolutely ridiculous, in the best way possible. So many groups have tried to do the whole "Show Off" thing with that number, but no one has rocked it like you guys did! The girls tapping were great, the band section in the center was also very impressive, and the ice skaters were great. Who knew you could get ice skaters on a stage! The people I was sitting with were wondering when you were bringing on circus animals and confetti guns Overall, another very well planned show! Congrats to the success of the group.

Waconia- I loved the last half of your show! "Disturbia/SOS" is another favorite for me this year! Very strong group again this year!

Congrats to everyone else, you all did great! There are too many small details about each group that are all blending together for me right now, so I don't really have general comments for the rest.

I hope I can get back to this competition in the future because it was so much fun! Thanks to everyone at Totino for a wonderful weekend!

Congrats to all the groups who performed at Spectacular yesterday. It was a great day of show choir and everyone should be very proud!

Totino Grace is by far one of the best run comp's and everyone from TG is so classy, hospitable, and friendly. They do such a great job, and even with the power outage for awhile, every one was doing their part to make sure people were still happy!
Congrats to Terry Voss on his 20th year teaching at TG, it was great to see him honored last night! Also congrats in general to the TG family this year! You guys have had the best year possible and deserve it so much! The show is just fantastic and the TG kids are so talented and one of the classiest groups out there! You deserve all your success and more!

I want to say a special congrats to ...
La Voce Ballo (bemidji girls). I am so proud of you all and how far you have come this year. I know it was a big transition year for you all, with a new director and a new band director. You have all worked so hard to overcome a big transition year and look at how well your season ended!!! So proud to be your former director, and so proud to still be your choreographer! I wasn't able to see you in finals as I was with Power Company in warm-up, BUT I heard your finals show was FANTASTIC!!!

Congrats Bemidji Vocalmotive on your win! I could tell on Thursday when I worked with you all that you were hungry for success, and you went out there and got it! My fav part of the whole show in finals was the ballad, it was BEAUTIFUL, and all the interactions you guys had with eachother on stage BLEW ME AWAY, i was in tears.... literally could not stop crying. It was so heartfelt, believable, and real! I am so happy Bemidji has been to every single Totino Grace Spectacular competition in 15 years! It was nice they recongized Bemidji in that was as well last night!

Waconia Current: Great job yesterday! You guys have had a GREAT year and should be very proud of the success you have had...on and off the stage! Such a FUN and great group to be apart of!
Waconia Power Company: I hope you know (judging by the tears that I had while talking to you in your warm up) how much I love each and every one of you kids! It has been such a great year together, and I am so lucky and fortunate to have been embraced and welcomed into the waconia family. I have pushed you all soooooo hard this year in rehearsals, and i know it hasn't always been easy, but with your hard work and dedication you showed, look at what happened!!! You have had one heck of a year. Every comp you have been to has had some of the top show choir in the midwest and you have held your own with them, and have placed so well in your comps. I am so proud of you guys and the road we have taken together this year. I look forward to choreographing your show next year and to watching your program grow and become even stronger!
Congrats to all of you! I couldn't be more proud!

This was a great day! All of us were in agreement on the bus that this was probably the most well run/fun competition that we have been to. All the volunteers were so nice!

wow........ i am SO happy i came for to go to this

Bemidji: holy moly...... i LOVED the color theme. I was a little iffy at first because I wasn't sure how it was all going to mesh and work but i absolutely LOVED it! and i loved the grace kelly number very very fun way to show the colors in the girls jackets, hats and under the pant leg. i thought your vocals were amazing as usual and your choreography was flawless as usual. and of course the bemidji kids/parents are always so nice and so much fun to be around.

Hastings: i loved your show.... loved the brittany spears song! when it first started playing i was really unsure but i loved it. and your ballad was very different but i loved how up beat it was and the female soloist was great!

Waconia: i loved second song i thought it was great and you guys sounded great. i love your ballad.... our JV did that last year and I loved hearing it again it's a beautiful song and you guys for sure did it justice.

RIG: i LOVEDDD your closer! hannah montana!! hahahahaha it sounded great and i loved every part of it. Man in the Mirror was amazing.. loved the vocals you guys were great to watch and had great energy on stage.

Onalaska: just about died when you did shadowlands i loved it soooooo much! you guys were so much fun to watch and your vocals sounded great awesome energy and i wish i could see it again. by far one of my favorite openers of the day!

La Voce Ballin: you girls are great i love watching you year after year so happy you made finals very much deserved and you guys sounded wonderful but i expected nothing less

side note: COMPANY!!! holy moly! i died.... i saw them at their preview and oh man have you guys just grown and i loved every minute of the show. one of the best shows i have seen from totino in a long time!! it was amazing i was smiling through practically the whole show! the ballad is flawless..... and i love every minute of it. so happy to be an alumni from totino grace and i couldn't be more proud! katelyn great job jumping in and doing the solo since jenna lost her voice you looked and sounded great!! again i can't say enough about how much i love this show. i can't wait to see it again in may! good luck at chicago! im sad i wont be there but you guys will do amazing!!
